France’s Hollande names woman to lead presidential security team![]() June 1, 2012 - 19:06 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - France's new president Francois Hollande is shrinking his presidential security team and has named a woman to lead it for the first time, Belfast Telegraph reported. Socialist Mr Hollande campaigned on promises to trim the financial deficit and be a more "normal" leader than his predecessor, conservative Nicolas Sarkozy. His new government's first move was to trim members' salaries, and Mr Hollande took a train to his first European Union summit instead of a plane. Now Mr Hollande's office said he is re-organising the elite presidential security team, including a reduction in staff from 93 to fewer than 60. He named Sophie Hatt to lead the team, noting in a statement that she is the first woman in the post. Mr Hollande's cabinet is half women, half men, another pledge from his campaign. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. Partner news |
