REPORT ON TURKEY COMPLIANCE TO EU STANDARDS TO CONTAIN UNEXPECTED ITEMS, EU ENLARGEMENT COMMISSIONER SAID

PanARMENIAN.Net - EU Enlargement Commissioner Gunter Verheugen has stated that the report on Turkey's compliance to the EU standards will contain one or two unexpected items. The EU Commissioner came against the proposal put forward by the Council under the Dutch Government that "green light" should be put on for Turkey's accession to the EU, however start the negotiation process itself within 2 years. "I think it will lead to postponement of the process for another two years," Verheugen said.
