Karabala statue moved back to Yerevan’s Abovian street

PanARMENIAN.Net - One of Yerevan’s symbols, the statue of the flower-selling old man (more commonly known as Karabala) has been moved back to Abovian street.

“A public demand to move the statue was issued to Yerevan mayor, who submitted the question to the urban planning council.

The latter resolved to move the statue back to Abovyan street,” head of Information and Public Relations Department of Yerevan municipality Arthur Gevorgyan said.

According to him, the choice of the site was made by chief architect of Yerevan Narek Sargsyan and the sculptor of the statue Levon Tokmajyan.
