Muslim Brotherhood wars against dissolving Islamist-led parliament

PanARMENIAN.Net - Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood is warning that a court ruling to dissolve the Islamist-led parliament and let Hosni Mubarak's former prime minister run for president is a move toward reversing the gains of the revolution, Belfast Telegraph reported.

The group, which held the most seats in parliament, says the decision will lead to more dangerous days than those under Mubarak's repressive regime.

The statement says progress made since Mubarak was ousted last year is being "wiped out and overturned".

The Supreme Constitutional Court's decision leaves Egypt with no parliament and concentrates power even more firmly in the hands of the generals who took over from Mubarak.

Ahmed Shafiq, who was Mubarak's last prime minister, is set to face the Brotherhood's candidate Mohammed Morsi in a presidential run-off on Saturday, June 16 and Sunday.
