Expert says RPA - Prosperous Armenia rivalry real

PanARMENIAN.Net - Caucasus Institute director, political analyst Alexander Iskandaryan positively assessed the rivalry between the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and Prosperous Armenia following the parliamentary race.

According to the expert, the rivalry doesn’t aim to form a false opposition on the eve of the presidential elections 2013.

Dwelling on the criminal investigation into ex-Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian on money laundering charges, Mr. Iskandaryan deemed it another display of rivalry between the two parties.

“Not all the members of Prosperous Armenia favor the idea of becoming an opposition force, as this wasn’t the goal they pursued when joining the party,”
