ARKADY GHUKASIAN SIGNED DECREE ON PARDONING NKR EX-DEFENSE MINISTER, WHO ATTEMPTED HIS LIFE

PanARMENIAN.Net - Yesterday President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Arkady Ghukasian signed the decree on pardoning former Defense Minister of NKR, ex-commander-in-chief of the Karabakh defense army, lieutenant general Samvel Babaian sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment. To remind, Babaian was condemned to deprivation of liberty on the accusation of organizing an attempt at the life of the NKR leader in March 2000, when the President himself, one of his bodyguards and the driver were gravely wounded. It should be noted that A. Ghukasian also signed the decree on forgiveness of Erik Paramazian, who was sentenced to 13-year imprisonment for participation in organization and realization of the attempt at the President's life.
