Editor: OSCE MG Co-Chair countries specified no party hindering talks

PanARMENIAN.Net - The statement issued by Presidents of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries is important for some points, editor-in-chief of Aztag Beirut-based daily said.

According to Shahan Kandaharian, the statement reiterates mediators’ support for OSCE Minsk Group format, which neutralizes Azerbaijani attempts to transfer the conflict resolution to another platform.

“The statement also reaffirms balanced focus on three principles: non-use of force, peoples’ right to self-determination and territorial integrity. In this context, Obama’s commitment to the principles runs counter to U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s report, which omitted the right of nations to self-determination. Clinton’s “new approaches” were confirmed neither in the presidents’ statements, nor during the meeting between Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers,” Mr. Kandaharian told PanARMENIAN.Net

“The statement reaffirms the standpoint, according to which both countries bear responsibility for the war rhetoric and use of force, with no party specified as trouble maker,” he said.
