Armenia’s new government program to support start-ups![]() June 25, 2012 - 16:04 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Government’s new program aims to support the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), including the start-ups, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) member, head of National Assembly’s’ Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gagik Minasyan said. As he told a press conference, consultations, special grant funds and even lax credits are envisaged for the start-ups. “Assistance to SMEs will ensure economic growth due to their flexibility,” Mr. Minasyan said. In this context, he stressed the social factor of assisting the SMEs, “as any democratic country is characterized by the developed businesses.” Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision. Kerobyan has said that for the first time in the history of Armenia, the volume of foreign direct investments amounted to about $1 billion. Partner news |
