BRITISH INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AGENCY TO CONTINUE PROGRAMS IN REGIONS OF ARMENIAOctober 19, 2004 - 00:11 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Today Armenian National Assembly Speaker Artur Baghdasarian received members of the British Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Gordon Marsden, Jane Griffits, Candy Stirton, Caroline Cox, Jim Rogers. As reported by the Armenian Parliament Press Service, in the course of the meeting a wide range of issues of strengthening of the inter-parliamentary cooperation, Euro integration of Armenia, regional cooperation was discussed. The importance of the LINKS initiative, which allows deputies of the three South Caucasian countries to hold periodical meetings and discuss regional problems, was stressed. As stated by the delegation members, The British International Development agency will keep implementing programs in regions of Armenia and will open an office in Yerevan. It was also noted that the UK can render much support to Armenia within Wider Europe: New Neighbors EU program. It should be noted that the delegation members also met with Chairman of the parliamentary Foregin Relations Commission Armen Rustamian.![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
