PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairman of the international relations commission of the Lithuanian Seimas Gediminas Kirkilas is in Armenia to discuss the opportunity of holding a meeting between speakers of the parliaments of the South Caucasian and Baltic countries. As noted by him at a meeting with Armenian parliament chairman Armen Khachatrian, the Baltic initiative is dictated by the mechanisms of development of the contemporary world: Europe discusses the concept of its enlargement and the South Caucasian region has good chances for being integrated into Europe. In response to the suggestion to hold the first such meeting in a "3+3" format in Vilnius June 2003, A. Khachatrian emphasized Armenia always welcomed cooperation. Let us note that the Lithuanian parliament commission chairman has already visited Georgia and Azerbaijan.
