IN 2005 ARMENIA WILL SHOW 7% INCREASE OF GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT AS COMPARED TO 1989

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today during the discussions of the state budget for 2005 in the Armenian parliament Minister of Finance and Economy Vardan Khachatrian informed that by the end of 2005 the nominal value of the gross domestic product (GDP) will comprise 2.58 trillion drams ($3.847 billion), thus having increased 7% as compared to the index of year 1989.

In the Minister's words, for the first time since joining market economy the republic will exceed its own index of the Soviet period. "To all appearances Armenia will become the first state in the post-soviet territory to step over the GDP index fixed in 1989", Vardan Khachatrian noted. In his words, by the end of 2005 will make $1186 per head, the figure being 2.4 times bigger as compared to year 2000. Capital development will make 15.7% of the GDP. The growth of the population income, according to his forecast will comprise 15%.
