"Harold & Kumar" and "House" star Penn, who has worked on and off for the Barack Obama administration (and is currently working on his campaign), has signed on to co-star in the CBS comedy pilot "Ex-Men," about a group of single guys who live in a short-term rental complex. The pilot, from "How I Met Your Mother" producer Rob Greenberg, who's writing and directing, was greenlit for the 2013-14 season earlier this month. Penn has worked with Greenberg on "HIMYM," on which he had a recurring role as Kevin. The actor's most recent pilot, "Prairie Dogs," was passed over by ABC earlier this year.
