ARMENIAN PARLIAMENT ADOPTED CHANGES INTRODUCED INTO BILL "ON POLITICAL PARTIES"November 24, 2004 - 20:08 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On Wednesday the Armenian National Assembly adopted in the first reading the changes introduced into the bill "On Political Parties". The new edition of the bill records that the political parties are to have no less than 2000 members (today the number is fixed at 200) as well as structural subdivisions in 11 regions of Armenia, including Yerevan (according to the acting legislation representative offices can be situated in one third of the regions).At that the local representations can be formed with a minimal number of 100 members. According to the bill, the constituent assembly of the party is considered authorized if it is held with the participation of representatives of two thirds of the Armenian regions. The bill "On Political Parties" came into effect on November 17, 2003. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
