Lenovo rolls out 1st Windows 8 tablet, ThinkPad 2August 9, 2012 - 18:36 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Lenovo has announced its first Windows 8 tablet, the ThinkPad Tablet 2, Digital Spy said. The 10.1-inch tablet measures 9.8mm thick with a weight of less than 600 grams (1.3 pounds). It features a 1366 x 768 resolution display, 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, a full sized USB port, HDMI port, NFC support and 10 hours of battery life. It will also include a stylus pen and a built-in fingerprint scanner for security. The ThinkPad Tablet 2 will run on full Windows 8 Pro using an Intel Atom processor. To take advantage of the full desktop version of Windows 8 Pro, Lenovo will also release a keyboard dock for the ThinkPad Tablet 2 which will have three additional USB ports, an HDMI-out port and an ethernet jack. The standard model use Wi-Fi for its internet connection, though 3G and 4G models will also be available through wireless carriers. Lenovo will launch the ThinkPad Tablet 2 alongside Windows 8 in October. No price details have been announced.
