Expert says Turkey activating stance on Syria

PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkey intensifies position on Syrian developments, Director of RA NAS Institute of Oriental Studies said.

“It seriously analyses its policy on Syria,” Ruben Safrastyan said, deeming Turkish military intervention possible in future.

The expert stressed Turkey’s gradual deactivation in Syrian developments or launch of hostilities as the two possible scenarios.

“In all probability the Turkish elite will resort to the second path. Turkey is unlikely to abandon its last year’s stance that brought about escalation of tensions in Syria,” he said, noting Turkish negative role in Syrian developments.

Mr. Safrastyan further said that Turkish policy on Syria resulted in deterioration of its ties with neighboring countries including Iran.
