Russia denies its planes violated Finnish airspace![]() August 24, 2012 - 23:28 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Russian Defense Ministry on Friday, Aug 24 denied Russian planes violated Finnish airspace, RIA Novosti reported. The Finnish defense ministry said on its website that “a Russian military plane is suspected of violating the airspace of Finland in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland on the evening of August 23, 2012.” The incident is being investigated by the Finnish border guard service. “There was no Finnish airspace violation by Russia,” a spokesman for Russia’s Western Military District said. Another military spokesman, Col. Andrei Bobrun, said the airspace violation was not detected by St. Petersburg-based aviation traffic control center and the Russian air defense in the area. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
