Russia, India to launch joint munitions production August 28, 2012 - 13:31 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Russia and India signed a framework document for establishment of a joint production facility for modern munitions for the Indian Army, RIA Novosti reported citing a high-ranking source in the Indian Armed Forces. India plans to start domestic production of cutting-edge Russian-designed weapons, including rocket and artillery rounds. The two sides also discussed other areas for possible cooperation including license-production of Russian aerospace technology, the source said, but did not give further details. India has traditionally been a major client for Russia's arms industry and its army operates Russian tanks, rocket launchers and small arms.
