Armenian police refuses to comment on shooting at Akhtala mayor![]() August 30, 2012 - 21:39 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian police spokesman refused to comment on media reports about current mayor of Akhtala town Haykaz Khachikyan having been shot at. “Police are clarifying the details, with additional information to be released later,” Ashot Aharonyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. Dwelling on several media reports suggesting Mr. Khachikyan was shot at by security service head of Akhtala mining and processing plant Arsen Chitchyan, Mr. Aharonyan said, “Police will issue such a report after verifying the information.” ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
