According to the press service of Armenian Ombudsman’s Office, violations of RA Criminal Procedure Code were recorded in all of the six cases, with the law calling for urgent discussion of the crimes reported. The Ombudsman’s Office staff has repeatedly filed notes to the prosecutor, proposing to eliminate the violations. “The Prosecutor’s Office, as well as other state institutions must act in line with the legislation. The given violation of the law is inadmissible in terms of the rule of law. Practice of law in such a manner distorts the legislator’s will, extremely broadening the scope of prosecutorial discretion and creating favorable conditions for corruption risks,” the note by RA Ombudsman’s Office staff reads. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
