FM urges to continue Karabakh settlement efforts amid Safarov row

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azeri leadership’s ostentatious and vulgar decision to pardon and extol Ramil Safarov, the murderer of Armenian lieutenant Gurgen Margaryan shocked the international community, Armenian Foreign Minister said.

“Even more shocking are the statements by Azerbaijan, with the official Baku showing cynical contempt for the international laws. The International community’s criticism of Baku’s shameful step prove that it cannot be taken in its stride,” Edward Nalbandian said at special parliamentary sitting.

“Azeri-Hungarian deal seriously harmed Karabakh conflict settlement attempts, as well as OSCE Minsk Group efforts to promote regional stability. The international community must not allow Azerbaijan to continue with its risky policy under the cover of peace talks,” the official stressed.

“Armenia, along with its partners must uphold its constructive policy to achieve a peaceful settlement of Karabakh conflict through fulfillment of Artsakh people’s right for self-determination, also continuing efforts to strengthen the regional stability,” Nalbandian said.
