National Assembly severs ties with Hungarian parliament![]() September 5, 2012 - 21:31 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - During a special sitting convened following the release of Azeri assassin Ramil Safarov, Armenia's National Assembly resolved to officially sever ties with Hungarian parliament in view of the latter’s responsibility for perpetuation of the crime and allowing further precedents. The parliament characterized Baku’s pardon and heroization of the criminal as a demonstration of political cynicism towards the international community, slamming Azerbaijan’s step as a threat to regional stability and promotion of national hatred. The National Assembly urged democratic parliaments worldwide to condemn the shameful deal between Hungary and Azerbaijan by adequately responding to the step. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
