TURKEY DEMANDS CLOSING ARMENIAN NUCLEAR PLANTMarch 1, 2005 - 18:21 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkey has submitted an official statement to the European Union and the International Nuclear Energy Agency demanding the closing of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant "taking into account the danger the Armenian plant poses and its being situated in a seismic zone." Referring to the fact that the plant accounts for 30% of the electric energy being consumed in the country, Armenia stated it will function till 2016.
