International Hrant Dink Award due Sept 15September 13, 2012 - 10:25 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The International Hrant Dink Award will be presented for the fourth time on Hrant Dink’s birthday, September 15. Every year, the award is presented to two people, groups or institutions from inside and outside Turkey, who work for a world free of discrimination, racism, and violence, take personal risks for their ideals, use the language of peace, and by doing so, inspire and encourage others. With this award, the Foundation aims to remind to all those who struggle for these ideals that their voices are heard, their work is visible and that they are not alone, and also to encourage everyone to fight for their ideals. The Jury of the International Hrant Dink Award 2012 consists of Ahmet Altan, Tim Garton Ash, Emma Bonino, Lydia Cacho, Rakel Dink, Costa Gavras, Nilüfer Göle, Alexander Iskendaryan and Etyen Mahçupyan. The award ceremony will take place on September 15, 2012 at Istanbul Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall. An oratorio composed by Majak Toşikyan dedicated to Hrant Dink will meet with the audience for the first time. Surp Lusavoriç Choir, Kevork Tavityan, Aylin Ateş and Petro will accompany the orchestra. At the end of the ceremony, the awardees of 2012 will be announced with the films prepared by Ümit Kıvanç. The ceremony will be presented by Mert Fırat. Alper Görmüş, Amira Hass, the Conscientious Objection Movement of Turkey, Baltasar Garzón, Ahmet Altan and Lydia Cacho are the former laureates of the International Hrant Dink Award.
