U.S. Defense Secretary calls on China, Japan for restraint![]() September 18, 2012 - 10:40 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta reiterated a call on Tuesday, Sept 18, for China and Japan to exercise restraint in their dispute over ownership of a group of uninhabited islands in the East China Sea. "With respect to these current tensions, we are urging calm and restraint by all sides and encourage them to maintain open channels of communication in order to resolve these disputes diplomatically and peacefully," he told reporters in Beijing, according to Reuters. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
