US WANTS GOOD RELATIONS WITH TURKEY NOT GOING TO SHUT EYES ON HISTORYMarch 10, 2005 - 07:40 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - When addressing the sitting of the US Senate Commission for European Affairs March 8 Senator George Allen stated that the US wants to have good relations with Turkey but at that is not going to shut eyes on the history. Allen reminded the monstrous words Hitler said when invading Poland, «Who today remembers Armenians?» When commenting on the Senator's statement Armenian National Committee of America Executive Director Aram Hamparian noted that the US Armenian community highly appreciates his efforts for recognition of the Armenian Genocide. Some experts participating in the sitting came against recognition of the Genocide, which in their opinion can worsen relations with Turkey.
