He will face off against Sergey Karjakin in the first round. According to the results of the draw, World Champion Viswanathan Anand (India) will perform as number one, Italy’s Fabiano Caruana – as number three, Norway’s Magnus Carlsen – as number four, Sergey Karjakin (Russia) – as number five and Francisco Vallejo Pons (Spain) – as number six.
