Aronian to face Karjakin in Grand Slam round 1

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian will be number two at Grand Slam to be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He will face off against Sergey Karjakin in the first round.

According to the results of the draw, World Champion Viswanathan Anand (India) will perform as number one, Italy’s Fabiano Caruana – as number three, Norway’s Magnus Carlsen – as number four, Sergey Karjakin (Russia) – as number five and Francisco Vallejo Pons (Spain) – as number six.

The tournament’s second stage will be held in Bilbao, from October 8-13.
