UMB(E)A to offer support to Syrian Armenians![]() September 24, 2012 - 15:12 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Deeply concerned over the fate of Syrian Armenian community, Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen (Employers) of Armenia (UMB(E)A) has expressed readiness to extend a helping hand to it. A decision was taken at UMB(E)A board meeting to offer support to Syrian Armenians through provision of employment opportunities, consultation aiming to help Syrian Armenian entrepreneurs to set up or transfer their businesses to Armenia, organization of professional seminars and training courses for beginner businessmen, as well as offering support to Syrian Armenian students in getting scholarships. A working group has been set up in the union to coordinate all proposals aiming to solve Syrian Armenians’ problems. The group will cooperate with RA ministries of Diaspora and Foreign Affairs, as well as state organizations and NGOs, UMB(E)A press service reported. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
