Russell’s latest, The Silver Linings Playbook, arrived back in June after the film made an impression at Cannes. Now comes the second attempt, hitting the web following another warm reception, this time at the Toronto Film Festival, where it took home the Audience Award, Empire reported. Bradley Cooper stars as Pat Solitano, a former teacher who suffered a nervous breakdown after catching his wife cheating on him. Freshly returning from time in an institution, Pat is trying to rebuild his life with the help of his parents, Pat Sr. (Robert De Niro) and Dolores (Jacki Weaver). But the road will not be an easy one, particularly as Pat doesn’t seem to be coping particularly well back out in the world. Then neighbour Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence) enters his life. She’s got her own issues, grounded in her husband’s death. The two form an awkward friendship that slowly starts to become something more, though Pat’s best pal Danny (Chris Tucker) isn’t much help on that front...
