Oskanian fell victim to RPA, Prosperous Armenia rules - Heritage![]() October 5, 2012 - 16:28 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Ex-Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian fell victim to the rules created between the Republican Party of Armenia and Prosperous Armenia since the latter’s joining the coalition, the head of Heritage parliamentary group said. According to Ruben Hakobyan, the authorities’ actions aren’t aimed against Prosperous Armenia but rather against Oskanian personally. Dashnaktsutyun member Aghvan Vardanyan, in turn, stressed that Oskanian case has been politicized. “Hadn’t Oskanian gone into politics, the Prosecutor General wouldn’t have submitted his case to a parliamentary debate.” On October 2, Armenian National Assembly resolved to strip Prosperous Armenia member, former Foreign Minister Oskanian of deputy immunity with 64 votes for, 6 against and 1 invalid, following two-day discussions over Civilitas Foundation fund misuse charges. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
