YURI MERZLYAKOV: OSCE MG CO-CHAIRS COUNT ON AZERBAIJANI AND ARMENIAN PRESIDENTS' MEETING

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group count on the meeting of the Azerbaijani and Armenian Presidents in Moscow during the celebrations of the 60-th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, OSCE Minsk Group Russian Co-Chair Yuri Merzlyakov stated, APA Azeri news agency reports. Yuri Merzlyakov considers that ministers cannot solve all the problems and in order to advance a political resolution on the highest level is essential. "The sense of the Presidents' meeting lies not in approving something ready and finally coordinated but in conveying a new impulse to the further talks, giving exact orders to the ministers and a guiding line for the mediators", Yuri Merzlyakov said adding that the meeting is of utmost importance for the Co-Chairs. March 18, on the eve of OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Slovenian Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel's call to the South Caucasus the MG Co-Chairs visited him in Lyublyana to express satisfaction with his decision to visit Armenia and Azerbaijan. "We asked the OSCE head to stress the necessity of the presidential meeting when negotiating with Robert Kocharian and Ilham Aliyev", Yuri Merzlyakov noted.
