Diamonds, her sixth UK number one as a lead artist, pushed Gangnam Style by South Korean rapper, Psy to number two. One Direction took third place with Live While We're Young, while Adele's theme tune for the new Bond film, Skyfall debuted at number four. In the album chart, British rockers Muse scored their fourth number one record with The 2nd Law. They stole the top spot from Mumford and Sons', whose new album Babel fell to second place. Babel follows the British band's 2009 award-winning debut, Sigh No More, which re-entered the chart last week and moved to number 13. Elsewhere in the album chart, US singer Pink held onto number three with The Truth About Love, while The Killers were non-movers at four with Battle Born. The Official Chart company's midweek update suggested the race for the number one single would be between One Direction and Rihanna. Adele's new single, Skyfall, is likely to challenge for next week's top slot, having landed a number four despite going on release in the early hours of Friday, October 5. Another new entry, Ellie Goulding, entered this week's chart at number five to give the singer her sixth top 40 hit. Elsewhere in the album chart, vocal harmony group The Overtones debuted at number six with Higher, while the Electric Light Orchestra's compilation album All Over The World scraped in at number 10.
