Yerevan to host AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships![]() October 9, 2012 - 13:11 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Yerevan will host 2012 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships from November 25-December 8. Armenia accepted International Boxing Association’s offer to host the event, after Thailand issued a refusal. Delegations are planned to arrive in Armenia November 25-27, with Yerevan to host the opening ceremony Nov 28, according to the press service of Boxing Federation of Armenia. Formerly called the AIBA World Cadet Championships, the AIBA Youth World Championships is the most prestigious event for young boxers aged 17 and 18. Welcoming international athletes in 11 weight categories, the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships allow boxers to compete against the best in their division with hopes of international stardom. The athletes will compete in the following weight categories: 46-49kg, 52kg, 56kg, 60kg, 64kg, 69kg, 75kg, 81kg, 91kg, +91kg. Armenia’s Narek Manasyan (92kg) won Armenia’s second silver medal at the European Boxing Championships 2024 on April 28. Armenian gymnast, Olympic bronze medalist Artur Davtyan has reached the finals of the World Cup. Gor Manvelyan has denied reports alleging that he has expressed a desire to one day play for the French national team. Roma midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is not considering FC Spartak Moscow as his next haven, according to fresh reports. Partner news |
