Armenian FM to attend Francophonie ministerial conference

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian will visit the Democratic Republic of Congo Thursday, Oct 11 to attend the Francophonie ministerial conference and the summit to be held in Kinshasa, RA MFA press service reported.

International Organization of the Francophonie comprises 56 member states and governments, 3 associate members, and 19 observers.

The organization was created in 1970. Started as a small club of northern French-speaking countries, the Francophonie has since evolved into a global organization whose numerous branches cooperate with its member states in the fields of culture, science, economy, justice, and peace.

Armenia joined the organization in 2008.
