Armenia becomes full member of Francophonie

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Congolese capital Kinshasa held an International Organization of the Francophonie summit, hosting representatives of 77 French-speaking nations, observer countries and associated members.

Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian represented Armenia at the event.

The summit was preceded by a Foreign Ministers Council sitting, as a result of which Armenia was granted a full Francophonie membership.

As Foreign Minister Nalbandian stated at the summit, as Francophonie member, Armenia will be able to further strengthen ties with other members of the Organization.

“Armenia, along with other Francophonie members, will contribute to strengthening of the Organization’s role on international scene,” Nalbandian said.
