9-TH SITTING OF RUSSIAN-ARMENIAN INTERPARLIAMENTARY COMMISSION TO BE HELD IN YEREVAN MAY 16-19

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russian State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov spoke in favor of closer cooperation of the Parliaments of Russia and Armenia. He stated it in the course of his meeting with Armenian National Assembly Chairman Artur Baghdasarian on Tuesday. Gryzlov noted that a constructive dialogue evolves between Armenia and Russia at all levels. The efficient work of Armenian and Russian MPs within the Interparliamentary Commission allows solving serious, key issues, which can further become submitted for consideration by our Governments. He also pointed out that both countries actively interact in the humanitarian sphere, education and science. Mr. Gryzlov reminded that this year is the Year of Russia in Armenia, and the next year will be the Year of Armenia in Russia. In Boris Gryzlov's words, many students from Armenia study in Russia. In his words, the Armenian party would like to develop relations in that field and Russia is ready to meet these wishes. Gryzlov also reminded that the next 9-th sitting of the Russian-Armenian Interparliamentary Commission will be held in Yerevan May 16-19. Specifying the relations between the two countries on the whole he noted, «we have reached a level, when we can solve concrete problems, influence the economic situation, humanitarian sphere.» In his turn, the Armenian Speaker also noted with satisfaction the high level of interparliamentary interaction, emphasizing that such meetings «promote strengthening and development of relations» between the Parliaments of the two countries. He specified that in the course of the meeting the Armenian party would like to discuss issues of cooperation in education, science, the humanitarian field, Besides, the question of interaction fo the two countries within international organizations will be discussed.
