ANC rep. slams presidential polls as mass forgery![]() October 16, 2012 - 17:16 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The head of Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc’s parliamentary group slammed May 6 presidential polls as a mass election forgery. “ANC does not rival the presidential candidates, rather seeing current regime as its main opponent,” Levon Zurabyan said. “The regime is using the people’s despair as its main weapon. Armenian people are tired of falsified elections. The emigration rate is growing, prompted by current desperate situation. We need drastic change to regain people’s faith,” Zurabyan said, urging for reforms. “The authorities aren’t ready for free and fair elections, only seeking to retain their seats at the expense of the weakening of our state,” he stressed. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
