Buffon sits out Denmark match

PanARMENIAN.Net - Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has decided to sit out a World Cup qualifier against Denmark later Tuesday, October 16 due to a left thigh muscle problem, Associated Press reported.

Buffon sat out training Monday but coach Cesare Prandelli had said he still wanted to play.

However, after a final test Tuesday morning, Buffon opted not to feature in the Group B match.

It is unclear if Buffon might also be at risk of missing Sunday's match with Juventus against Serie A co-leader Napoli.

Napoli goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis is expected to replace him against Denmark.
