“Bridesmaids” star Kristen Wiig joins “Hateship, Friendship” dramedyOctober 18, 2012 - 17:36 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Kristen Wiig, Guy Pearce, Hailee Steinfeld and Nick Nolte are starring in the indie dramedy Hateship, Friendship, The Hollywood Reporter said. Liza Johnson, who wrote and helmed the 2011 indie drama Return, is directing the pic, which has been flying under the radar and is due to start shooting next week in New Orleans. Based on Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage, a book of short stories by Alice Munro, the project centers on a nanny (Wiig) hired to care for a rather wild teenage girl (Steinfeld). Using email, the girl orchestrates a romance between the nanny and the father (Pearce), a recovering addict living in a different town. Also in the mix is the girl’s grandfather (Nolte), who blames Pearce for the death of his daughter. Dylan Sellers and Cassian Elwes are producing. Mark Poirier wrote the script. Wiig is oscillating between studio comedies and indies; she recently wrapped The Secret Life of Walter Mitty with Ben Stiller and appeared in indies Imogene and Revenge for Jolly! this year. She is repped by UTA, Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment and Jackoway Tyerman. Pearce most recently was onscreen in Prometheus and is coming off of shooting Iron Man 3. He is repped by CAA and Sloane Offer. Steinfeld recently wrapped a pair of indies: Can a Song Save Your Life? with Mark Ruffalo and Keira Knightley and the sci-fi Ender’s Game. She is repped by ICM Partners, Coast to Coast Talent, Anonymous Content and Hirsch Wallerstein. Nolte, repped by CAA and Kingsgate Films, next will be seen in Warner Bros.' Gangster Squad and Parker with Jason Statham. Johnson, whose Return starred Linda Cardellini and Michael Shannon and debuted in Cannes before being picked up by Focus, is repped by Paul Nelson of Mosaic.
