IRAN AND ARMENIA DISCUSS INTERACTION ISSUES BETWEEN LAW-ENFORCEMENT BODIES

PanARMENIAN.Net - Director of the Consular Department of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Rasul Mohajer has met with First Deputy Chief of the Police of Armenia Ararat Mahtesian. In the course of the conversation Mohajer noted the important role of the law-enforcement bodies of Armenia in securing apt conditions for the movement and settlement of Iranian citizens in Armenia. The Iranian Foreign Ministry official has arrived in Yerevan to take part in the first joint sitting of the diplomatic departments of the two countries that will focus on consular issues. In the course of the conversation with Mohajer, Mahtesian emphasized the importance of intensification of the relations between Teheran and Yerevan and spoke in support of the promotion of law-enforcement cooperation and arranging contacts between the police service of the two countries. Having noted the presence of a large number of Iranian citizens in Armenia, Mahtesian said steps should be taken to facilitate the conditions of their stay in the country. In the course of the meeting the parties also discussed issues of development of the interaction between the law-enforcement bodies of the two countries, including in exchange of experience and education and technical cooperation.
