3 Turkish ops reported killed in PKK clashes![]() October 20, 2012 - 12:31 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Three members of a Turkish special ops unit were killed in clashes with the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the southeastern province of Hakkari late on Friday, Oct 19, Today's Zaman reported. A statement from the Hakkari Governor’s Office said a special ops unit launched an operation in the village of Kırıkdağ in pursuit of the rebels upon a tip-off. The PKK group set an ambush for the unit and the ops were killed in the fighting. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. Partner news |
