World’s top-ranked orchestra to perform in YerevanOctober 22, 2012 - 16:42 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Yerevan will host the closing ceremony of “Yerevan perspectives” international music festival, with Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, ranked best by Deutsche Grammophon, to perform. The festival initiator Stepan Rostomyan noted the orchestra’s expected performance as a cultural shock, pledging to provide special acoustics during the concert. The orchestra conducted by famed Lorin Maazel will perform works by Peter van Anrooy, Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Sergei Prokofiev. Festival manager Sona Hovhannisyan, in turn, deemed inviting the orchestra a stubborn step, considering their busy schedule.
