Afghan police arrest suicide bomber suspect

PanARMENIAN.Net - Police in Afghanistan arrested a man on Friday, Oct 26, as he attempted to carry out a suicide bomb attack targeting guests at an Eid celebration hosted by the local security command, RIA Novosti reported citing Khaama Press.

Security forces in northern Baghlan Province, who had received a tip about an impending suicide attack, overpowered the would-be bomber before he was able to set off the explosives strapped to his body.

The arrest came as the attacker, identified as Abdullah, tried to enter the celebration venue dressed as a police officer, provincial security chief Asadullah Shirzad said.

Abdullah is the second would-be suicide bomber to be arrested in Baghlan province in three days, Shirzad said.
