ARMENIAN SPEAKER: HISTORY CANNOT BE BURIED

PanARMENIAN.Net - «I think in the 21-st century all civilized humanity will denounce the Armenian Genocide,» Armenian Parliamentary Speaker Artur Baghdasarian stated in Tsitsernakaberd Memorial to Victims of the Armenian Genocide today. In his words, interesting changes referring to the process of recognition of the Genocide take place in the world today: the Polish Sejm denounced the Genocide lately, as well as the Armenian and French Presidents commemorated the Genocide victims. «I am sure progress will take place and we will fight along with the whole of the civilized world against repetition of genocide,» he added. Speaking of the Turkey's possible accession to the EU without recognition of the Genocide, A. Baghdasarian noted that though Turkey seeks after EU membership, application of double standards is inadmissible. Armenia works for the entire region, including Turkey, to be integrated into European structures. «It is an exclusively good opportunity to recognize a crime against humanity. I believe Turkey will have to give political evaluations, as the history cannot be buried,» the Speaker summed up.
