PROBABILITY FOR ARMENIAN PILOTS TO BE RELEASED FROM GUINEAN PRISON HIGH

PanARMENIAN.Net - Head of the World Armenian Congress, President of the Union of Armenians of Russia Ara Abrahamian said the issue of 6 Armenian pilots charged for participation in an attempt of a coup d'etat in Equatorial Guinea, RFE/RL reported. "We are already reaching an agreement with the authorities and we are trying to put it on paper," he stated. "The likelihood of the Armenian pilots' release is high. Actually, it's a matter of time," Abrahamian added. Abrahamian refused to disclose any details of his promised deal with Obiang's regime. "The offer we have made is hard to turn down because it is beneficial both for us and the government of that country," he said. Speaking of a statement of Amnesty International that the prisoners are in a plight, Abrahamian insisted that the pilots' life is not at risk. "I'm doing my best to ensure that they are kept in slightly better conditions than other prisoners," he said, adding money assistance was offered to them lately.
