Majority of Americans in Israel favor Romney for U.S. President

PanARMENIAN.Net - 85% of Americans living in Israel support Republican candidate Mitt Romney in the upcoming U.S. election, according to an exit poll conducted by iVoteIsrael, The Jerusalem Post reported.

The poll, that surveyed 1572 voters, found a clear preference for the Republican Party in Congress as well, with 62% voting GOP and only 28% voting Democratic.

The future of Jerusalem and peace process negotiations were cited as primary motivating factors for voting among Americans living in Israel (61.3%), other notable issues were jobs and economy (11.2%) and Iran (11.2%).

80,000 Americans from Israel have submitted their ballots to their local county board, an unprecedented 400% increase from the 2008 election in which only 20,000 voted.
