Ex-PM unaware of ANC leader’s plans on presidency

PanARMENIAN.Net - Former prime minister, Armenian National Congress (ANC) parliamentary group member Hrant Bagratyan is not aware yet of RA first president, ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrossian’s plans about presidency.

“Ter-Petrossian is an acceptable candidate for us. However, I can say nothing about his decision,” he said, characterizing the issue as “very sensitive” for the opposition bloc members.

“ANC has a list of members that consider running for president. Now we are waiting for Ter-Petrossian to take a final decision,” he said, deeming it “immodest” to utter his own name in the list of the possible candidates.

Armenian presidential elections are scheduled for February 2013, with the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) leader, current president Serzh Sargsyan and Heritage leader Raffi Hovannisian having announced decision to enter the race.
