Aghasi Aghasyan wins silver at University Weightlifting Championship![]() November 9, 2012 - 10:34 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The 3rd World University Weightlifting Championship is ongoing in Israeli city of Eilat. Armenia’s Aghasi Aghasyan (85 kg) lifted a total of 350 kg to win silver, with Russia’s Artem Okulov coming first with a total of 357 kg result. Meanwhile, Vahram Gevorgyan (85 kg) lifted 340 kg to come 5th. Smbat Margaryan (56 kg) and Vanik Avetisyan (69 kg) won bronze earlier, with Samvel Grigoryan (77 kg) grabbing silver. Andranik Hovhannisyan and Hayk Hakobyan will also represent Armenia at the championship. Armenia’s Narek Manasyan (92kg) won Armenia’s second silver medal at the European Boxing Championships 2024 on April 28. Armenian gymnast, Olympic bronze medalist Artur Davtyan has reached the finals of the World Cup. Gor Manvelyan has denied reports alleging that he has expressed a desire to one day play for the French national team.
