OSKANIAN AND TALVITIE DISCUSSED KARABAKH SETTLEMENT PROSPECTS

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian met with EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Heikki Talvitie, reported the Press Service of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia. The meeting focused on three main topics: EU-Armenia relations, Karabakh settlement, Armenia-Turkey relations. Vartan Oskanian informed the interlocutor on the process of working out of a program of actions within the EU Wider Europe: New Neighbors initiative. The program draft is expected to be submitted for consideration by the EU before the end of the year. The parties noted that the program will lead the EU-Armenia relations to a new phase. V. Oskanian and H. Talvitie discussed the prospects of solution of the Karabakh problem. Having noted that it is necessary to continue the talks, the interlocutors expressed concern over cases of breaking the cease-fire. Besides, prospects of development of the Armenian-Turkish relations within the start of the talks over Turkey's accession to the EU were discussed.
