Yerevan to host Hayk Melikyan’s final 2012 piano concert

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian pianist Hayk Melikyan will give his final Yerevan concert on November 17 to mark world famous American composer John Cage’s 100th birth anniversary.

The event, organized by American University of Armenia in the framework of “1900+” World Piano Music Concerts Series, will feature works by John Cage, Morton Feldman, E. Carter and H. Cowell, the pianist’s artistic manager told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

Melikyan is expected to give solo concerts in Moscow, Montréal and Geneva in December. After the New Year holidays he will participate in Sound of Stockholm annual festival for contemporary classical music.
