Heritage rep. says majority system reduces chance of govt. shiftNovember 15, 2012 - 14:21 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Political developments in Armenia are following their normal course ahead of the upcoming presidential elections, Heritage party deputy chairman said. As Armen Martirosyan told a press conference, political forces are actively engaged in public and private negotiations. “Heritage has held a joint discussion with Prosperous Armenia party only; another is expected with ARF Dashnaktsutyun,” he said. Dwelling on Prosperous Armenia’s proposal on shift to parliamentary system of government, Heritage member noted that the system benefits small countries. The MP further said that the majority voting system reduces the chance of government shift. “A full shift to proportional electoral system will enable the opposition to garner votes,” he said.
